Interested in Serving on the Governing Board?

Governing Board

The Athlos Academy of St. Cloud governing board is preparing for their annual election and looking for individuals interesting in joining them in serving on the board.  Athlos Academy of St. Cloud is governed by a dedicated group of individuals comprised of parents, teachers, and community members. The primary role of governing board members is to:

  • promote public understanding of the school’s mission,
  • develop a framework for setting goals and developing strategic plans for accomplishing those goals, and
  • provide financial, academic, and governance oversight.

There are a variety of different roles on the board that will be available, and all are welcome to apply. Linked here is a description of the roles and expectations, as well as an interest form, which serves as the official application to become a candidate. The window for submitting interest forms is now open and will run through midnight on March 2, 2020. Interested persons should submit their completed interest form and resume to info@athlosstcloud.org.

Board members should expect to contribute 5-10 hours of time per month, including serving on a committee of the board. Board service meets the thirty-hour volunteer expectation for parents.

We invite you to attend the next Athlos Academy of St. Cloud board meeting to become familiar with the structure and the work of the board. It will be held February 22, 2021 at 5:00 pm at the school and is open to all members of the public. To participate virtually, please contact the Governance Coordinator at jturgeon@athlosacademies.org.

Elections will be held online via a link on the Governing Board page on the school website from March 1-19, 2021 and is open to all parents and staff of Athlos Academy of St. Cloud.

New board members will be announced at the March 22nd board meeting. Orientation will occur in April, and then the new board will be seated at the May board meeting.

Questions about the governing board positions may be directed to Jill Turgeon at jturgeon@athlosacademies.org. We appreciate your consideration of this request and all you do to make Athlos Academy of St. Cloud a success!
