Rebecca Tomford

4TH GRADE TEACHER

About Rebecca Tomford

Meet Rebecca, an inspiring educator with a passion for instilling a love for learning in her students. Rebecca’s journey began at Bemidji State University, where she pursued degrees in Elementary Education and Communication Arts & Literature. For over a decade, she dedicated herself to teaching second grade at a charter school in Saint Cloud, where her firm yet fun teaching style made her a favorite among students and families.

Rebecca’s ultimate goal is to create lifelong learners – individuals who find joy in learning at every stage of life. She firmly believes that education extends beyond the classroom and is excited to inspire her students to explore the world around them.

In 2017, Rebecca was drawn to Athlos’ unique three-pillar approach, which focuses on shaping the whole child. She believes that this approach is crucial for shaping a brighter future for the world.

One of Rebecca’s standout qualities is her ability to strike a balance between organization and discipline, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for her students. She cherishes the opportunity to build strong connections with her students and their families each year, and she looks forward to collaborating with her fellow Athlos colleagues.

Favorite Performance Character Trait:

Curiosity, Grit & Focus/Self-Control,

Rebecca treasures curiosity, as she is a lifelong learner who takes delight in discovering and evolving both within and beyond the classroom.

Grit is another cherished trait for Rebecca, as she believes that “life is hard, but so are we.” She emphasizes the importance of rising to challenges and persevering despite failure in our modern society.

Rebecca also embraces the virtues of focus and self-control, recognizing their value in a fast-paced and ever-changing world. She believes it is crucial to resist distractions and temptations, and to stay the course no matter the endeavor. However, she also stresses the significance of letting loose, playing, and laughing!
