Ms. Elizabeth Gogolin
1ST GRADE TEACHER
About Ms. Gogolin
Elizabeth Gogolin graduated in December of 2018 with a bachelor’s in education. In addition, she obtained certification in health education because of her strong interest in promoting and teaching healthy habits/skills. She first discovered her passion for teaching while volunteering through the Big Brother Big Sister program during her time attending the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Upon graduation, she was a long-term substitute in a special education classroom at an elementary school in the La Crosse area.
She feels her best quality as a teacher is her ability to develop strong relationships with her students. “Students need a safe, positive, productive learning environment,” she said. “Most often, this comes when they have a teacher who builds this environment for them. I’m a great listener, which allows students to feel they’re being heard. In addition, I like to have silly/goofy moments in my class, which helps contribute to the positive learning environment I have built.”
Favorite Performance Character Trait: Grit
“The Performance Character trait that resonates most with me is grit because in life it can be hard to overcome failure,” she said. “However, when I push through failures, I often find I can accomplish more than what I had originally expected of myself!”
