About Ms. Ruegemer
Caroline Ruegemer will join Athlos Academy of St. Cloud in the fall of 2017 as a new elementary teacher. Ms. Ruegemer received her bachelor’s degree from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. She has been in education for 27 years and has taught preschool, kindergarten, first, third, and fifth grades in St. Cloud area schools.
As an educator, Ms. Ruegemer says her best quality is her belief that all children can learn.
“As a teacher, it is my responsibility to figure out the best approach for reaching each child,” Ms. Ruegemer said. “I also do my best to set clear expectations for children, but also know that being flexible is equally important.”
During her first year at Athlos Academy of St. Cloud, Ms. Ruegemer’s goals include creating active communication and integrating Performance Character.
“My goals for my first year at Athlos are to build open communication with students, parents, and staff and to try to implement the Performance Character traits into everything that is presented in our classroom,” she said. “I believe that character education is key to building good citizens.”
Favorite Performance Character Trait: Curiosity
When it comes to the 12 Performance Character traits Athlos teaches, curiosity resonates most with Ms. Ruegemer.
“I love to have children ask questions and to figure out new things that they have not experienced before,” she said. “I like to do hands-on activities and let the children explore before showing them or helping them.”
